NORMAN, Okla. -- The 17th-ranked Oklahoma volleyball team was swept by No. 1 Nebraska Saturday night at the Nebraska Coliseum in Lincoln, Neb.
The undefeated Cornhuskers won by scores of 30-19, 30-26 and 30-27.
The Sooners last defeated the Huskers in 1997.
"We had some chances," OU head coach Santiago Restrepo said. "Unfortunately we kept falling behind by a few points and it's difficult to come back from that against the No. 1 team in the country. You need to play perfect volleyball when you're trying to come from behind."
Senior Joanna Schmitt led the Sooner offense with 13 kills, while fellow senior Laura Tomes added nine and Sarah Weiland added eight kills of her own.
Senior setter Rachael Jackson recorded the highest hitting percentage for Oklahoma on a .600 clip.

Oklahoma fell to 20-5 on the season and 11-3 in Big 12 play.
Nebraska remains the only Big 12 team the Sooners have not defeated in 2006. The Cornhuskers also swept OU in Norman on Sept. 16.
OU now prepares for a two-game home stand against Texas Tech (Nov. 8) and Kansas State (Nov. 11) at the Howard McCasland Field House.
