THE MATCH UP
Oklahoma travels to Columbia with a 6-2 mark in Big 12 road play with its only road losses coming to No. 1 Nebraska and No. 8 Texas.  The Tigers fell out of the top-25 poll this week for the first time all season after a four-game loss to Texas.  MU opened the year at No. 13 and rose as high as No. 12 in the rankings.

Oklahoma swept the Tigers on Oct. 18 when they rose to their highest ranking of the season, a No. 12 ranking.  Following the sweep in Norman, Missouri has struggled, winning only two of its last eight with victories over Kansas State and Colorado.

However, the Tigers have been tough at home this season in Big 12 play as they own a 6-2 mark in matches played at the Hearnes Center.  Their only losses at home have come against No. 1 Nebraska and Iowa State.

Oklahoma currently sits in a tie for second in the Big 12 standings with No. 8 Texas as both schools have three conference losses while OU has four matches remaining and Texas only has three left.  The border rivals beat each other once this season in Big 12 action.

The Tigers, who were chosen to finish third in the preseason poll, currently own a 9-7 Big 12 mark are sixth in the Big 12 race behind Colorado (11-6 Big 12) and Iowa State (10-6 Big 12).

BEST MARK IN OU BIG 12 HISTORY
With a 22-5 overall record and the first half of the Big 12 season completed, Oklahoma has already accumulated more wins than any other OU squad since the start of the Big 12 Conference.  The previous best record was the 20-13 record produced by the 1997 squad.  That season marked OU's last trip to the NCAA Tournament.  With a current 13-3 Big 12 mark, it is also ties the most league wins since 1997 when OU finished with a 13-7 record.

SCHMITT MAKES HISTORY
Senior Joanna Schmitt was recognized after the Texas A&M match as she recently became a member of the 1,000 dig club.  The outside hitter collected her 1,000th career dig against Texas and became the lone OU rally-scoring player to accomplish the feat.  Schmitt now owns 1,083 career digs and 1,605 kills and is the only Sooner in rally-scoring history to own 1,000 digs and kills in her career.  Additionally, the senior outside hitter is only the fourth player in the 32-year history of the program to accomplish the feat.

SOONERS COLLECT 20-WIN SEASON
Oklahoma collected its 20th win of the season against TCU on Oct. 31.  It marked the first 20-win season for OU since 1997 when the Sooners finished with a  20-13 overall record.   In the 32-year history of the program the Sooners have now had 12 20-win seasons.

CHASING BEST BIG 12 RECORD
With four conference matches remaining, the Sooners are in prime position to own their best regular season Big 12 record ever.  OU currently owns a 13-3 Big 12 mark which ties with the 1997 squad that finished 13-7 in the conference.

SOLO LEADER
Middle blocker Eliane Santos has been a force at the net  in her two-year career with the Sooners.  Santos leads all Big 12 players with 34 solo blocks and ranks third in Big 12 play with 1.57 blocks per game.  The senior is also the OU rally-scoring record holder with 53 career solo blocks in her two-year stint with the Sooners.

PAIR NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT
Senior setter Rachel Jackson and junior defensive specialist Hannah Sharp were named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District VI teams as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).  Jackson represented Oklahoma on the second team while Sharp was named to the third team.  Oklahoma had more honorees than any other Big 12 school in District VI.  Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor and Texas Tech each had one representative on the teams.
