NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma junior Savannah Scott was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Scott earned her first career honor after scoring three goals in the Sooners' two wins over the weekend to help OU improve to 9-1-0 overall.  Scott shared the honor with Texas A&M's Melissa Garey.

With three goals (six points) over the weekend, Scott currently leads all Sooners with five goals this season (second in points with 11). Scott also led OU in goals scored a season ago, with six tallies.

In the last two games, the junior has connected on three of her four total shots (.750 shooting percentage).

On Friday vs. Texas State, Scott recorded two goals, including the game-winner, to post her second-career multi-goal game (Oct. 5, 2003 vs. Missouri) and the third game-winning goal of her career.

On Sunday, Scott provided some extra insurance against Texas with the Sooners' second goal of the contest. The junior is tied for third on OU's all-time goals scored list (15) and she also ranks seventh in all-time points (36).

Also announced by the Big 12 office on Tuesday, Oklahoma State's Bettina Grossmann was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and Leslie Hill (Iowa State) was the conference's top newcomer for games played from Sept. 20-26.

Scott is the third Sooner this season to garner conference accolades.  Sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Nichols was named the Big 12's top defender on Aug. 30 and senior captain Lauren MacIver was the conference's best offensive player a week ago.

The Sooners, who are off to the program's best start (9-1-0 overall, 1-0-0 Big 12) and has won a school-record seven consecutive games, will resume Big 12 play this weekend with a pair of home games at John Crain Field.  OU will host Texas Tech on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and then battle Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.
