NORMAN, Okla.   The Oklahoma volleyball team suffered a sweep (28-30, 27-30, 17-30) at the hands of No. 19 Notre Dame Saturday at the Dome Rally in San Antonio, Texas.  While the Sooners hung with the Fighting Irish in the first two games,  OU's 33 errors and season-low hitting percentage of .031 was the difference in the match.  Notre Dame remains undefeated (5-0) while Oklahoma dropped its second straight match and fell to 4-3.

Notre Dame has been one of the hottest teams in the country in the past two weeks.  After knocking off then-No. 11 Texas last week to vault into the top-25,  the Irish claimed a 3-1 victory over No. 8 USC in the first round of Dome Rally action on Friday.

Box Score:  Notre Dame 3, OU 0 |  Updated 2005 Stats

The Sooner defense provided the bright spot for OU, holding the Fighting Irish to a .165 clip and totaling 55 digs to Notre Dame's 47.  Providing defensive highlights was sophomore Hannah Sharp who led both teams in digs with 14.  For the third straight match, Sharp led the Sooners in digs.  Also adding defensive pressure was freshman Lacy Barnes and junior Eliane Santos who collected 10 digs each.

At the net, sophomore Anna Stadel produced six block assists while teammate Laura Tomes added five.

Offensively, Oklahoma only had two players hit above .200.  Stadel posted a match high .667 clip while pounding seven kills on nine attempts with one error.  Stadel's clip marked a new a career high for the middle blocker.

Santos earned her second double-double (13 kills, 10 digs) in three matches, but the transfer from College of Southern Idaho also claimed 13 costly attack errors.

With the win, Notre Dame earned the advantage over Oklahoma in the all-time series.  The Fighting Irish now lead 3-2.

The Sooners will play their final match of tournament action Sunday when they face host school UT-San Antonio at 5 p.m. inside the Alamodome.  UTSA owns a record of 3-2 after being swept by LSU Friday night.  The Roadrunners face Rice in a Saturday night match up before taking on the Sooners on Sunday.
