The 6-4, 185-pound Everett helped OU to key road wins at Texas (74-58) and Texas Tech (74-54) on the way to a share of the Big 12 title and a No. 1 seed in the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament. He averaged 13.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.0 steals over the two games.
Against Texas, he registered 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Five days later at Texas Tech, he fell two assists shy of a triple-double with 14 points, a career-high 10 rebounds, eight assists and two steals. It marked his first career double-double. Everett shot .450 from the field (9-for-20), .400 from 3-point range (2-for-5) and 1.000 from the free throw line (6-for-6).
From Charleston, S.C., Everett has scored in double figures in each of the last 10 games and has led the Sooners in assists in 18 of the last 23 contests. During the team's current six-game winning streak, he is averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting .561 from the field, .538 from 3-point range and .826 from the foul line.
On the year, he is averaging 12.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and a team-high 5.1 assists. He ranks second in the Big 12 (league games) in assists with 5.4 per contest. His 5.1 assists average on the year is the highest by a Sooner since Tyrone Foster averaged 5.6 during the 1995-96 season.
Everett was named Big 12 Co-Rookie of the Week on Nov. 29 following his three-game performance at the Great Alaska Shootout and also garnered the weekly award on Feb. 21 after wins against Nebraska and Kansas State.
He and fellow OU junior Taj Gray have been named league rookie of the week a combined seven times in the season's 16 weeks. Gray has earned the honor a school-record four times. Junior forward Kevin Bookout has been named Big 12 Player of the Week twice this year.
