LUBBOCK, Texas -- The OU men's basketball team outscored Texas Tech 44-25 in the second half Saturday to pick up a convincing 74-54 victory in Lubbock in its regular season finale.
The win was the Sooners' sixth straight and, with Oklahoma State's home loss to Texas, assured Kelvin Sampson's team of at least a No. 2 seed in the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament.
Oklahoma can earn a share of the Big 12 regular season championship and a No. 1 seed in the tournament if Missouri wins at home against Kansas on Sunday.
Against the Red Raiders, OU made 10 3-pointers, outrebounded Tech 45-33 and got a near triple-double from junior Terrell Everett. The junior guard registered 14 points, a career-high 10 boards and eight assists as Sampson won his 100th Big 12 regular season game, more than any coach in league history.
Kevin Bookout added 15 points and nine rebounds, Taj Gray had 12 points and five boards and Johnnie Gilbert pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds (10 in the first half) in the final regular season game of his career.
