KANSAS CITY -- The fourth time proved to be the charm for Texas Tech.
Ronald Ross scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half and Jarrius Jackson finished with 22 as Texas Tech advanced past the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament for the first time in four tries with a 69-63 victory over No. 17 Oklahoma.
The Red Raiders (20-9) solidified their bid for the NCAA Tournament by advancing to the championship game for the first time. They will meet either Kansas or Oklahoma State for the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid.
Texas Tech notched its fourth straight appearance in the semifinals with a 64-56 triumph over Iowa State on Friday. Losing to the eventual champion in each of the last two years, including Oklahoma in overtime in 2002, the Red Raiders were able to break through behind the stellar second-half shooting of Ross.
