Athletics Department to Host Student Dunk Contest

NORMAN, Okla.-- The OU Athletics Department has announced plans for a student dunk contest during halftime of the OU-Kansas game slated for 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21.
 
A preliminary round will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 17, from 6-8 p.m. in the Lloyd Noble Center women's basketball practice gym. The top three contestants will then move on to compete for the title of OU Student Dunk Champion. The event is sponsored by Campus Lodge Apartments.

A $200 OU Bookstore gift certificate will be presented to the winner. Second place receives $100 and third place $50 certificates.

Only University of Oklahoma students are eligible to compete. To register, contact the OU Marketing and Promotions Office at 325-8232 or by e-mail at tbgeorge@ou.edu. The deadline for registration is Thursday, Feb. 17, by 5 p.m.
