Men's Basketball Team Will Face Tulsa in 2004 All-College Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- ESPN Regional Senior Vice President Pete Derzis announced on Thursday the 69th annual Touchstone Energy All-College Basketball Classic schedule.  The classic will take place on Dec. 28, 2004, at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City and will feature Oklahoma versus Tulsa and Oklahoma State versus Gonzaga.

OU and Tulsa will play the first game at 6 p.m. and OSU and Gonzaga will play the second game at 8:30 p.m.  Both games will be televised on ESPN2, marking the third consecutive year that ESPN or ESPN2 has provided national coverage of the event.

"We are proud to be in our third year of such a successful agreement and of the great matchups we are helping to bring to this outstanding event," said Derzis.

The Touchstone Energy All-College Basketball Classic is the world's oldest basketball classic, outdating even the NCAA, NIT, NAIA and the NBA tournaments. 

The Oklahoma City All Sports Association is proud to uphold the event's lasting tradition and is excited about the classic's growth and upcoming competition, according to Tim Brassfield, the group's executive director.

"We are enthusiastic about are continued partnership with Touchstone Energy, our growing relationship with ESPN and the exciting games the fans of Oklahoma City will no doubt enjoy," Brassfield said. 

The classic will be accompanied by the return of the Touchstone Energy Basketball Adventure, which will take place in the Cox Business Services Convention Center.  This is an interactive family basketball festival that will feature food, entertainment, basketball clinics and more.  It is free to the public and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 28.
