NORMAN, Okla. -- Lindy's preseason football ranks Oklahoma No. 2 in its annual edition that will hit news stands soon. The Sooners were listed behind USC.
Others in the top five include Georgia at No. 3, Florida State No. 4 and Michigan No. 5. Sooners Jammal Brown, Mark Clayton and Dusty Dvoracek were preseason All-America selections.
Brown is a returning All-American who will likely push for the Outland Trophy as a senior. Clayton, a receiver, already holds most of Oklahoma's receiving records with a full season yet to play, and Dvoracek is back after leading Oklahoma's defensive interior in both sacks and tackles for loss last season.
Second-team Lindy's All-Americans included returning Heisman Trophy and Davey O'Brien Award winner Jason White at quarterback and consensus Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year Donte Nicholson at safety.
Other Big 12 schools listed among the top 25 include No. 7 Texas, No. 14 Kansas State, No. 16 Missouri and No. 22 Nebraska. All but Missouri appears on Oklahoma's regular season schedule.
