OU Alters Scrimmage Plan

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops said Wednesday that he has altered the scrimmage plans for this Saturday.

The team will now practice from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., on the practice fields south of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, then move into the stadium for a 45-minute scrimmage.

"This gives us a little more time to prepare," Stoops said. "There's no reason to rush into a scrimmage just yet."

The OU coach said he plans a more elaborate scrimmage for April 8. The time for that workout will be determined later.

Those attending this Saturday's practice and scrimmage should enter the OU facilities from the east, off of Jenkins Ave.

Wednesday's practice, the second of 15 allotted by the NCAA, resembled the first. The team again practiced for approximately two and one-half hours. Due to windy conditions and the threat of rain, the Sooners moved indoors to the Everest Training Center for a second straight day.

The team is off on Thursday, but has a 3:30 p.m., practice set for Friday.
