Seven Big 12 Teams Receive Bowl Bids

DALLAS -- Oklahoma and Texas highlight a field of seven Big 12 Conference bowl teams selected during the Bowl Championship Series and other contracted bowl announcements.

Oklahoma advances to the BCS for the fourth time in five years to meet Southern California in the national championship at the FedEx Orange Bowl on Jan. 4, 2005, while Texas makes its first trip to the BCS against Michigan in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
 
It marks the third time over a four-year span that two Big 12 schools have played in the BCS in the same campaign.

Big 12 Bowls

Texas A&M tangles with Tennessee in the 69th annual SBC Cotton Bowl on Jan. 1 while Texas Tech faces California in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30.
 
Colorado meets UTEP in the EV1.net Houston Bowl on Dec. 30 while Iowa State plays Miami (Ohio) in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 28. Oklahoma State is paired with Ohio State in the MasterCard Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29.
