OU, Auburn Tied in Latest AP Poll

NEW YORK -- Oklahoma kept its undefeated season intact with convincing victory over a former powerhouse. But it was not enough to keep sole possession of the No. 2 spot in the latest Associated Press college football poll released Sunday.

While the Sooners (10-0) posted a 30-3 rout of Nebraska to claim eight first-place votes in balloting of writers and broadcasters, Auburn (10-0) cruised to a 24-6 triumph over then-No. 8 Georgia to notch six first-place votes and a share of the second spot in the poll.

Both the Sooners and the Tigers tallied 1,536 points overall and are within 72 of front-running Southern California.

The Trojans (10-0), who received 51 first-place votes, also remained perfect with a 49-9 victory over Arizona, clinching their second straight Pac-10 championship and running their winning streak to 19 games.

Utah (10-0) also remained undefeated with a 45-28 victory over Wyoming and moved up two spots to fifth. The same could not be said for Wisconsin (9-1), which suffered a 49-14 setback to Michigan State and dropped from fourth to ninth and out of the BCS mix.

The last remaining undefeated team is Boise State (9-0), which survived San Jose State in double overtime and climbed a spot to 13th. California (9-1) climbed into Wisconsin's old spot following a 42-12 victory over Washington. Texas held steady at No. 6 after a 27-23 victory over Kansas.

Michigan (9-1) moved up two spots to seventh after a 42-20 win over Northwestern. Louisville (7-1) climbed four slots to eighth after a 55-28 victory over TCU on Wednesday.

Florida State (8-2) is 10th, followed by Georgia, Miami (7-2) and Boise State. Louisiana State (7-2), which scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to wrap up a 26-10 victory over Alabama, climbed three spots to 14th. The Tigers are followed by Tennessee (7-2), Virginia Tech (7-2) and Iowa (8-2).

Virginia (7-2) dropped eight spots to 18th after its 31-21 loss to Miami. West Virginia (8-2) also fell eight slots to 21st following a 36-17 setback to Boston College. The Eagles, who posted their first win in Morgantown since 1990, climbed two spots to No. 19. Arizona (8-2) is at No. 20, followed by the Mountaineers, Texas A&M (7-3), Oklahoma (7-3) and UTEP (7-2).

Bowling Green (8-2) debuted at No. 25 after a 56-35 triumph over Marshall.
