NORMAN, Okla. -- Mark Bradley is listed on the depth chart at receiver, kick returner and holder. The versatile athlete is another weapon in Oklahoma's arsenal -- always primed to make a big play.
Bradley scored a touchdown on his first career rushing attempt in the 63-13 win over Houston earlier this season. The 51-yard reverse came after taking a pitch from fellow receiver Mark Clayton.
Earlier in his career, Bradley scored a TD on a his first career kickoff return attempt (100 yards at Iowa State last season) and on his first career passing attempt (17 yards to Clayton vs. Oklahoma State last season).
Bradley did not score a touchdown on his first career reception, but did on his fifth -- a 39-yarder at Iowa State last season. The senior is the son of former Sooner QB Danny Bradley, who lettered at OU from 1981-84. The younger Bradley began his college career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff before transferring to Oklahoma.
Bradley tops the team in career touchdowns per touches at 5.0 (that includes the pass to Clayton last season). He has 25 career touches and five touchdowns. Next highest on the team is Brandon Jones with 66 touches and 12 TD (5.5), then Mark Clayton with 190 touches and 25 scores (7.6).
Bradley chatted with Sooner fans on Wednesday morning. The following is a transcript of the chat:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael: Edmond: What was your favorite part of the OU-Texas game?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I'd say the bus ride into the Cotton Bowl. Seeing all the fans go crazy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Derek: Mobile, Alabama: Have you always been versatile and played a lot of different positions before OU?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I played receiver, quarterback, defensive back, punt returner and kick returner in high school. I also punted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robert.:Muskogee: Is there any particular reason you wear No. 1?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Because it was my Dad's number. He wore it at OU from '81 through '85.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gary B.:Tulsa: Up to now, what has been your favorite game or play in your career?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: My favorite play was the return for a touchdown against Iowa State. My favorite game was last season against OSU when I passed for and caught touchdowns.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John.:Lawton: Mark, what do you like to do in your down time?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: That's easy. Sleep.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carson.:Amarillo: Who is the biggest comedian in the locker room?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: It would probably be me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom.:Wichita: Mark, does your Dad give you advice after watching one of your games?

Mark: Yes, he gives me the same advice as the coaches -- and more.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: My Dad, Danny Bradley.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Larry.:Norman: If you had to compare yourself to someone in the NFL -- who would it be?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Oh, I don't know. Maybe Michael Vick or Antwaan Randle El. A player that can do a lot of things.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt M.:Tulsa: What do you remember most from last year's loss to Kansas State?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I remember that the offense just couldn't get started.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: It's not really a whole lot different from any other week.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greg:Houston, TX: Mark, can you talk about the strength and conditioning program at OU?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Coach Schmidt -- we call him Schmitty -- he's one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in this business.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brenda:Barnsdall, Oklahoma: What do feel will be the biggest challenge for the team on the way to a National Championship?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Finishing our goals set for the 2004 year. To win the Big 12 South. That will put us in place to play for the conference championship. That's the immediate goal in front of us.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bob S:Broken Arrow: What position that you've never played would you want to try out?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I wouldn't want to play lineman and I wouldn't want to kick field goals. I might try out for ball boy one year (ha)...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shelley:Edmond, Oklahoma: What are your plans for after college?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I plan to finish school and continue in grad school.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nick:Tulsa: Was Texas a lot better that in previous years?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Yes, they were -- you can tell by the score of the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doug and Nicki!!:Winston Salem, NC and Camarillo, CA: What is your most favorite part of game day or any aspect of the game itself when your either wake up, warm up or make a play? Thanks Marky Mark!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: My favorite part of the day is waking up at the hotel and looking out the window at our football stadium.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce:Bristow: What has been your favorite place to play -- besides home of course?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I'd say the Cotton Bowl because of the atmosphere and the OU-Texas rivalry.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nicki Holt:Camarillo, CA: What is your favorite OU sport besides football to watch? You better think hard Mark and pick the right answer!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Softball
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mathew T:OKC: How hard is to be the holder? What do you have to concentrate on?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: You're concentrating on catching the ball and the placement of it for Trey.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack:Norman: Do you get a lot of attention when you go to the store or out in public?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: No, because I don't tell them what I do.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victor:Richardson, Texas: Who do you think is the fastest player on the team?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: This is a hard one, probably Chijioke Onyenegecha. (OK - I just wanted to type that out).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark:Sallisaw: Mark, What are your thoughts about a freshman winning the Heisman?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jon:Edmond: How does this year's team contrast to last year's?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: The difference is the running game. We feel we are more balanced on offense.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brannon:Perryton, TX: What's your daily schedule look like?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Tough. I'm busy from 8:30 in the morning to 10:30 at night due to academics and athletics.

Daniel:Gore Oklahoma: What's your major, and why?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Sociology, because I'm a people person.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TL not Thomas :Putnam City: Do you like the early kickoffs?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Yes, because it gives you time to enjoy your Saturday afternoons once the game is over. Plus, it's hard to stay geared up all day for a late game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin:Little Rock: Who do you room with at home and on the road?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: At home I room with Antonio Perkins and Ataleo Ford. On the road I room with the great Mark Clayton.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
corey:norman: Who is the most inspirational person on the team?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Jason White because he has came back from two knee surgeries and he's shown he's one of the top players on the team.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jerrod:Carrollton, Tx: Do you ever play football games on the Playstation? What's it like to see yourself on the game? FYI, I switched you with Rankins as the other kick returner and I've run back two returns for touchdowns.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I play every once in a while and yes, I'm selfish on the game. I put myself at every position I played in in high school and I broke the school record with something like 50 touchdowns.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: Thanks for stopping by and for all your questions. Enjoy the rest of the season.
