Oklahoma 52, Fresno State 28

Jason White's 56 yard completion to Mark Clayton on the second offensive play of the game was the second longest completion of White's career. White's longest career completion was in the 2003 season opener against North Texas when he connected with Brandon Jones for 64 yards. The reception was also the longest of Mark Clayton's career and his third for 50 plus yards. His previous career high was a 54-yarder against UTEP last season.

Trey DiCarlo's 41 yard field goal was his fourth of 40 or more yards this season. In 2002, DiCarlo was successful from 40 yards or more three times. The OU record for field goals of 40 or more yards in a season belongs to Scott Blanton with seven in 1992.

OU has made a field goal on its first offensive possession in all three games this season.

With three catches in today's game, J.D. Runnels has five for his career. He has touchdowns on two of those receptions. Runnels second career TD reception came in the first quarter today. His first was against South Florida last season (his only catch of the 2002 season was a three yarder for a TD).

Will Peoples, who led the 2002 receivers in reception yards, made his first appearance of the season during the Sooners' third offensive series. He pulled in a 14 yard reception on the fourth play of the possession and ended today's game with three catches for 29 yards.

Renaldo Works' six yard score was his first touchdown of the season and the 14th rushing TD of his career. Works has 16 career touchdowns.

Brandon Jones has one touchdown in each of OU's three games this season. The last Sooner receiver to catch a touchdown in three consecutive games was Trent Smith who scored against Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Colorado (in the Big 12 Championship game) in 2002.

Today's attendance, 83,091, breaks the OU attendance record set in the season opener (83,073) against North Texas. Today's game was the 26th consecutive sellout.

Mark Clayton's touchdown late in the first half was his second of the season and 10th of his career. Clayton becomes the ninth receiver in OU history with 10 or more career touchdowns.

OU's 38 first half points are the most the Sooners have scored since last season's victory over UTEP. OU had 38 at the half against the Miners and scored 68 in the game.

OU is 61-6 all-time when ranked No. 1. OU has won 17 consecutive non-conference games and is 15-0 in the month of September under Stoops.

Brodney Pool's interception with 1:40 remaining in the third quarter was the first of his career.

Mark Clayton had 110 receiving yards, which is the fourth 100-yard performance of his career and puts him in a tie with Eddie Hinton (1966-68) for the OU career record for 100-yard receiving games.

Jason White's four touchdown passes ties a career high set against Kansas in 2001. White had 338 yards passing for the second 300-yard passing game of his career. His best career effort was 343 against Baylor in 2001.

Paul Thompson's 50-yard scamper during the fourth quarter was the longest rush of his career and the longest run by an OU quarterback since a 58-yard run by Patrick Fletcher against TCU in 1998.

With 556 yards in total offense today, the Sooners came within one yard of tying the previous best offensive effort in the Bob Stoops' era (557 against Baylor in 1999).

The Sooners finished with zero turnovers in today's game, the second consecutive game for OU to go without a turnover. The last time that happened was at the end of the 2002 season when OU was turnover free in the Oklahoma State and Colorado games. Through three games, OU has just one turnover.

True freshmen Lewis Baker, a linebacker from Lewisville, Texas, and Dan Townsend, a fullback from Sulphur, saw playing time late in the game, the first time this season for a true freshman to see playing time.
