NORMAN, Okla. - Three former University of Oklahoma men's basketball players participated in commencement exercises over the weekend in Norman and received their college degrees. Richard Ainooson, Michael Cano and Jozsef Szendrei earned their diplomas and are ready to meet life's challenges that lie ahead.

Ainooson was a 6-3 guard who played on three Sooner teams. A walk-on who went on to earn an athletic scholarship, the Oklahoma City product played on OU's 1998-99 Sweet 16 squad, the 2000-01 team and the 2001-02 Final Four team. Ainooson graduated with a degree in management information systems.

Another walk-on-turned-scholarship guard, Cano was a 6-1 San Antonio, Texas, product who played four seasons at Oklahoma (1998-99 through 2001-02). Voted one of OU's captains prior to his senior season, Cano earned his degree in business finance.

Szendrei, a member of the Sooner basketball family for the past three seasons, was a 6-9 center from Budapest, Hungary, who was an OU crowd favorite. All three of Szendrei's Sooners teams earned Big 12 Tournament titles. An international business major and marketing minor, Szendrei's parents flew all the way from his native country to watch him graduate.
