Men's Basketball Reunion Set For Saturday

NORMAN, Okla. - A reunion of former OU men's basketball players and coaching staff members will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8, the day the Sooners host Baylor at 3 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.

Baylor head coach Dave Bliss, who directed the 1978-79 Sooners to the Big Eight Conference regular season title and their first NCAA Tournament in 32 years, will be saluted before the game along with his former OU assistant coach (and current Baylor assistant) Doug Ash. Also introduced before the game will be members of that 1979 Oklahoma squad, including Big Eight Player of the Year John McCullough, Al Beal, Cary Carrabine, Aaron Curry and Ray Whitley.

A halftime ceremony will feature the introduction of several former Sooners, including Ernie Abercrombie, Alvan Adams, Bobby Jack, Darryl "Choo" Kennedy, David Little, Eduardo Najera, Bo Overton, Brent Price, head coach Billy Tubbs and many more.

Saturday's Baylor game is sold out. However, $20 restricted admission tickets will go on sale at 1:30 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center's north and east ticket windows.
