For the second straight year, Oklahoma's Teddy Lehman is a finalist for the Dick Butkus Award, which is presented annually by the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando, Fla., to the top linebacker in college football. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Orlando on Dec. 12.
It marks the fourth straight year that Oklahoma has produced a Butkus finalist. OU has produced three Butkus winners (Brian Bosworth in 1985 and 1986 and Rocky Calmus in 2001), the most by any school in America.
Lehman, a senior from Fort Gibson, Okla., leads the nation's top-rated defense with 83 tackles. He also has 11 tackles for loss and one pass interception. The Sooners are No. 1 nationally in total defense No. 1 passing defense, No. 8 in scoring defense and No. 12 in rushing defense.

"This is a great honor, something that I've been hoping for all year," Lehman said. "I had the chance to go down last year and you're treated very well there."
Sooner head coach Bob Stoops added, "Teddy has played very well and is leading a defense that is rated No. 1 in the country right now. We're all very proud of him."
Miami's Jonathan Vilma and Texas' Derrick Johnson are the other two finalists.
