The University of Oklahoma football program and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will hold their Fourth Annual Holiday Food Drive this Saturday prior to the OU - Baylor football game. They will be joined by partner organizations Norman Public Schools, Feed the Children and The No. 14 Foundation.
Food donations may be dropped off at 10 different locations around Memorial Stadium and on Campus Corner beginning at 10:30 a.m. this Sat., Nov. 15. Also, donations can be taken to the two Wright's IGA stores in Norman and the Panera Bread in Norman beginning Mon., November 10.
"This event has become a favorite for our team," said OU head coach Bob Stoops. "I hope the fans are able to appreciate just how much good this food drive does in our area. It takes only a little time and effort to make a big difference."
The food that is gathered will be distributed to Norman elementary school students and their families. Any additional food will go to local food pantries and Feed the Children. Each year more than 150 families benefit from the food drive.
Cash donations also will be accepted. Those can be sent to: FCA, P.O. Box 1613, Norman, Okla., 73070. Checks should be made out to FCA and designated for the food drive. For additional information, call 405-366-6405.
