White Nominated for Two ESPY's

White Named SBC Big 12 Player Of The Week

November 10, 2003 | Football

Oklahoma quarterback Jason White has been named the SBC Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last Saturday's 77-0 win over Texas A&M.  The senior played just one half but completed 16-of-18 passes for 263 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions.

He had touchdown passes of 40, 42, seven, 28, and 12 yards to help the Sooners build a 56-0 midway lead over Texas A&M. OU rolled up 639 yards of total offense and 77 final points, most ever against an Aggies' team.

White completed his first 14 passes and put together a school-record 16 consecutive completions, including his final two passes against Oklahoma State. That broke the school record of 12 set by current Sooners' assistant Cale Gundy in 1991. White also tied a school record that he already shared by firing the five TD passes.

Other weekly honorees included Nebraska LB Demorrio Williams on defense and Baylor WR-KR Robert Quiroga on special teams.

This marks the eighth time that an OU player has captured player of the week honors this season, but the first time by an offensive player.
