October 14, 2003 | Football

Oklahoma players and coaches met with the media at the weekly football press conference prior to the Missouri game on Saturday.

The Sooners host the No. 24 Tigers at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. OU's homecoming game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.

Here are quotes and photos from Tuesday afternoon at the Switzer Center. Video is available on the O-Zone.

Safety Brodney Pool

On the Texas game
"It was great for me.  I got a chance to go back to my home state and beat a team that didn't recruit me."

On his friends on the Texas side
"I have friends like Vincent Young and Selvin Young that I talk to. But I haven't talked to them since our big victory."

On his big interception vs. Texas
I went from getting chewed out by the coaches to being cheered because I was actually in the wrong coverage.  I was running to get back into the right position."

Defensive End Jonathon Jackson

On Vincent Young
"A guy like Young can hurt you in so many ways.  I just sticked to my job of containment."

On the Texas victory
"We're never satisfied with our performances.  We are always working to be better than our last effort."

On Brad Smith of Missouri
"It's a given that we are looking to stop him because he had a great game last year.  Our defense was upset with the way we played and we want to have a really good game this time."

Fullback J.D. Runnels

On the Texas game
"We always have our eyes on the Texas game, we circle it on our calendar.  But we aren't satisfied because we know we have a lot of games to go.

On Jason White's Heisman chances
"The Heisman Trophy is for the top college football player and in my eyes there is no better player than Jason White.  I'm going to do whatever I can to help him get that trophy."

On Missouri
"We're going to have to be very physical.  The key to the game will be executing our blocks on offense and sticking to the coaches' game plan."
