Oklahoma's 37-0 win over Tulsa marked the first road shutout by the Sooners since 1988 when OU blanked North Carolina 28-0 in Chapel Hill to open the season, (a span of 56 true road games). The shutout also marked the fourth of the Bob Stoops era. The three previous shutouts came against Tulsa (58-0 in 2001), Missouri (37-0 in 1999) and Indiana State (49-0 in 1999).
OU's two fumble recoveries tonight gave the Sooner defense at least one forced turnover in 37 of the last 39 games.
Oklahoma's 378 rushing yards marked the best rushing performance of the Bob Stoops era. The previous best was 301 yards against Iowa State in 1999.

With two catches in the game, senior wide receiver Antwone Savage broke OU's all-time receptions mark with 115 career catches. The record was previously held by Eddie Hinton who had 114 career catches from 1966-1968.
OU's second touchdown on the evening came on a 91-yard punt return by sophomore Antonio Perkins in the third quarter, which tied Tommy McDonald (vs. Iowa State, 1955) for third longest in school history. The longest returns in school history are credited to Darrell Royal (96 yards versus Kansas in 1948) and Eddie Hinton (93 yards versus Colorado in 1966). Perkins also had a 58-yard first-quarter punt return for touchdown called back due to a block-in-the-back penalty (he was credited with seven yards on the return).
Perkins' 112 punt return yards rank eighth all-time in OU single-game history.
Senior running back Quentin Griffin rushed for more than 200 yards (237) for the second time in his career and also eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the fifth time in his career. He became the seventh player in OU history to go over the century mark five career times.
Griffin set two personal bests in tonight's game. He eclipsed his career single-game rushing best with 237 yards. He also turned in the longest rush of his career with a 50-yard dash in the second quarter.
Griffin's 237 rushing yards marked the 13th best single-game ground performance in Oklahoma history.
Griffin extended his school record consecutive games streak with a catch to 28 games.
Redshirt freshman running back Kejuan Jones scored the first touchdown of his career with an eight-yard scamper up the middle in the third quarter for the Sooners' first touchdown of the game. Jones also added a second score with a touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore wide receiver Will Peoples hauled in his first career catch with a 20-yard second-quarter reception.
During the Bob Stoops era, OU has 88 scoring drives of less than two minutes, with four coming in tonight's game.
OU's four penalties tied the lowest number of penalties assessed against the Sooners over the last year. Oklahoma was penalized a season low four times against Texas A&M last year.
Despite their slow start, Oklahoma finished the game with 509 total yards. The Sooners outgained Tulsa by 296 yards.
