Aaron McGhee Named MVP At Portsmouth Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. - Aaron McGhee, OU's first-team All-Big 12 senior forward, was named MVP of the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational Tournament over the weekend. McGhee averaged 22.3 points and 12.3 rebounds over three games and led his MD Designs squad to a runner-up finish in the NBA pre-draft camp.

The 6-8, 250-pound McGhee registered 30 points and 15 rebounds in the title game. The tournament, which featured eight teams, consisted of college seniors only. The event was heavily attended by NBA scouts and general managers.

McGhee helped lead the Sooners to their first Final Four appearance since 1988 by averaging 16.0 points and a team-high 7.7 rebounds this year. He shot .458 from the field and .822 from the foul line on the season and finished his two-year OU career with 1,001 points.

McGhee is also expected to participate in the NBA's June pre-draft camp in Chicago.
