  • NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma soccer team took some time on Tuesday to play a little soccer with the Special Olympics. Despite the weather (windy and wet), over eighty children from six schools participated in the morning event at OU's Soccer Complex, John Crain Field. Six stations, from actual games to dribbling practice, were set up around the field with rotations every fifteen minutes. This event marks the second time the Sooner soccer squad has worked with Special Olympics under Head Coach Randy Evans.

"We are certainly thrilled to be involved with Special Olympics," said Evans. "This is the second successful event we've had with them and we hope it turns into an annual activity or even more. Believe me, our team gets just as much out of this as they do."
