NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma volleyball team has not won an away game this season. The Colorado Buffaloes have lost three consecutive matches, of which two were home contests inside the Coors Event Center. The 4-9 Sooners hope the odds are in their favor as they battle the 8-7 Buffaloes, Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Coors Event Center. Both teams are 2-3 in Big 12 play this season.

"Colorado's middles are quick and very efficient," said OU Head Coach Kalani Mahi. "We have to be aware of their tendencies to be effective defensively. If we play our own game and sustain momentum we can be successful. We need to be the aggressor and keep our concentration level high the entire match."

Senior outside hitter Megan O'Connell leads OU into Boudler, with team-highs in kills (3.29 kpg) and hitting percentage (.268). OU's most consistent spiker, Candice Woods, has been battling a pulled quadriceps. Despite the nagging injury she put away eight kills against Texas A&M, Wednesday, while hitting a team-high .353 (8K-2E-17E). Woods is currently sixth in the Big 12 with 1.15 blocks per game and fourth in conference play with a .384 (53-15-99) hitting percentage.

Other Sooners moving up in the conference ranks are Jessica Barney and Denise Griffin. Barney is seventh in aces per game (0.44) and 10th in assists per game (9.61). Denise Griffin, who moved to libero from outside hitter nine matches ago, is currently fourth during Big 12 play with 3.25 digs per game.

Colorado is led by Monique Gerlach, currently seventh in the Big 12 with a .354 (208-57-426) hitting percentage. Senior setter Elizabeth Gower is averaging 10.27 per game.

Oklahoma returns home Wednesday, Oct. 9 for a 7 p.m., match with Kansas State, that marks "Hispanic Heritage Night" with free sombreros for the first 100 fans in attendance. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children. Admission is free for OU students with a valid student I.D.

Through the remainder of the season, all home matches will be broadcast live through SoonerSports.com. Simply visit the volleyball home page and click on the "Live Streaming Match" link located on the right hand side of the page.
