Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech
Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001
Norman, Okla. - Lloyd Noble Center

Oklahoma Head Coach Kelvin Sampson
On the game:
"This is a big win for our team. Texas Tech came out tonight and made a lot of their shots so you have to give them credit. They've been playing teams very well lately and most people don't give them the credit they deserve. I thought we played well in a lot of different areas of the game. We outrebounded them by a good margin and that was good to see. Our offensive rebounding in particular was outstanding, but we missed so many shots that it made it difficult to sustain our leads. We were able to pull out the win. Winning six in a row in this league is never easy, so we definitely have to feel good about that."

On junior forward Daryan Selvy:
"(Daryan) Selvy played a heck of a basketball game tonight and really bailed us out. He is playing with a lot more confidence and experience. Our coaches have done a really good job with working with him, which has paid off. We want him to be able to use his speed off the dribble. Their defenders had some difficulty in guarding him so Daryan did a good job in taking what Tech was giving him."

On senior guard Tim Heskett:
"Tim was important for us tonight off the bench. I thought he really gave our team an emotional lift that was needed. He rushed a few shots but he also made a few critical shots."

Oklahoma Junior Guard J.R. Raymond
On the game:
"It was a tough game, but we won. I thought we rebounded the ball very well, but we still need to step up on defense. Take nothing away from Texas Tech. They have a good team and the quickness of their guards got us into foul trouble. As for me, I need to do a better job of time management and game control. That's what a point guard is supposed to do."

Oklahoma Junior Forward Daryan Selvy
On the game:
"I thought the team played hard all around. There was some adversity in this game but we were able to play through it. I know if I keep rebounding offensively like I did tonight, everything else will fall into place."
