NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Aaron McGhee scored 19 points, and Hollis Price and Jason Detrick had 17 each as Oklahoma beat Central Michigan 81-64 on Wednesday night.

Price scored 15 of his points in the second half and helped the Sooners (2-1) keep Central Michigan at a comfortable distance after taking control with a run shortly after halftime.

McGhee carried Oklahoma in the first half, scoring 14 points. He finished with 11 rebounds, helping the Sooners to a 37-25 advantage on the glass.

"I didn't feel any pressure tonight, I just wanted to play well," said McGhee. "I wanted to help my team win the best way I possibly could. I just kept playing hard and I just made some things happen tonight."

Whitney Robinson scored 17 and Mike Manciel had 15 for Central Michigan (2-2), which shot just 43 percent and committed 18 turnovers.

Oklahoma, playing for the first time in two weeks, only led 41-39 one minute into the second half before going on a 14-2 run in the next six minutes. Price scored six of those points.

The Chippewas got two free throws from Gerrit Brigitha and a basket inside from Manciel to cut the margin to 55-45, but a 9-2 run capped by Daryan Selvy's three-point play pushed the lead to 17. Central Michigan got no closer than 13 after that.

"I think the two weeks of practice that we had was good for us and really helped our shot selection," noted OU head coach Kelvin Sampson following the game. "We held them to seven offensive rebounds and I was excited that we got to the free throw line 20 times tonight and made 18 of them. Those things were key to our success. Tonight was a good step in the right direction for this team."

McGhee had scored seven points in a 15-7 run that gave the Sooners their biggest first-half lead, 27-19. The Chippewas responded with a 9-0 run of their own, started with a 3-pointer by David Webber, to take a 28-27 lead with four minutes left before halftime.
