Tonight's 66-44 win marked OU's 16th season-opening win in its last 17 opening nights. The Sooners have now won 22 of their last 23 home season openers, and Kelvin Sampson is now 8-0 in season-opening games.
Oklahoma is making its fourth appearance in the Preseason NIT and 10th overall NIT, including six postseason NIT events. With tonight's win, OU is 4-3 in games played in the preseason tournament, last competing during the 1995-96 season.
