NORMAN, Okla. - In its second match of the week, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-26, 1-14 Big 12) fell to Texas Tech in three games by scores of 30-17, 30-16 and 30-15. The Red Raiders move to 16-10 overall and 7-8 in the Big 12.
Texas Tech held the Oklahoma to a .101 hitting percentage, while registering a .443 hitting clip. Sophomore Logan Pierce, who averages 3.20 kills per game, was held to four kills on the night. Junior Denise Griffin posted a team-best six kills, while junior Lindsay Hoyt hit a team-best .200 with two kills and no errors on nine attempts.
The Sooners were led by junior Jessica Barney defensively with six digs. The Red Raiders outhustled OU, recording 43 digs compared to Oklahoma's 26. Heather Justice posted a team-best 14 digs, while recording 11 kills. Kelly Johnson led the Red Raider offense with 16 kills, while Samantha Harvey registered a team-high .636 hitting clip.
The Sooners are next in action at home against No. 14 Texas A&M on Monday, Nov. 12. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House.
