NORMAN, Okla. - In its first of four road matches this week, the University of Oklahoma volleyball team (2-21, 1-12 Big 12) lost to No. 14 Texas A&M (17-3, 10-2 Big 12) in three games via scores of 30-23, 30-24 and 30-23 in College Station, Texas.
Despite the loss, sophomore Christina Barlow posted a career and team-high 15 kills, while sophomore Logan Pierce followed with 12 kills and a team-high .276 hitting percentage. Pierce led the Sooners with 11 kills, and freshman Gretchen French recorded a team-best three blocks.
For the Aggies, Brandi Mount led the offense with 11 kills followed by Tara Pulaski and Erin Lechler with 10 each. Michelle Cole posted a team-best 12 digs while Pulaski registered a match-high five blocks.
The Sooners are next in action at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational at Southwest Missouri State this weekend. Oklahoma plays Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. The Sooners then face Wichita State and SMS on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
