OU-Kansas Telecast Is 2001's Highest Rated Fox Sports Southwest Program

DALLAS - Fox Sports Net's telecast of the Oklahoma-Kansas Big 12 Conference college football game Saturday (Oct. 13) registered a 20.4 household rating with a 34 share in Oklahoma City, the highest-rated Fox Sports Net program of the year in the Southwest region and the most watched program of the day in Oklahoma City.

It surpassed a 19.0/26 on May 21 in San Antonio for a Spurs-Los Angeles Lakers NBA Western Conference Finals playoff game, and ranks as the second highest-rated program of all-time in FSN's Southwest region behind a 24.2/45 in OKC for last season's Oklahoma-Oklahoma State game on Nov. 25, 2000.

An average of 127,000 households in Oklahoma City watched the defending national champion Sooners win their 19th straight and improve to 6-0 this season. The telecast peaked at 24.4/39 from 8:30-8:45 p.m. CT, and averaged a 23.4/37 for the game's final one hour and 15 minutes.

"Southwest Football Saturday," Fox Sports Net's regional scoreboard and highlight show that preceded the Oklahoma-Kansas telecast, also recorded its highest rating of the season with 2.2/4 in Oklahoma City.

A rating represents the percentage of television homes in a market tuned to a program. A share reflects the percentage of televisions in use watching a program.
