Ranked 22nd in the AP poll and 19th in the ESPN/USA Today version, Oklahoma improved to 12-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12 with its 78-65 win against Texas A&M. The Aggies dropped to 6-8 and 0-2 on the season.

Senior Aaron McGhee scored a game-high 24 points tonight, marking the sixth time this year that the junior forward has amassed at least 22 points. The heaviest player on the OU roster, McGhee was 2-for-3 from three-point range tonight and is now 11-for-18 (.611) from beyond the arc on the season.

Sophomore point guard Hollis Price finished the game with 17 points and a game-high five assists. Price, who scored 25 points Saturday at Iowa State, is averaging 21.0 points in two league games.

After getting outrebounded by a 39-21 count by Iowa State Saturday, OU registered a 32-29 advantage on the boards tonight. It marked just the fourth time this year that Texas A&M has been outrebounded.

OU senior Nolan Johnson, who had scored in double figures in eight of the previous nine games, did not attempt a field goal tonight and was held scoreless. Johnson sustained a right knee sprain in practice Sunday and played just 10 minutes this evening.

In OU's first 12 games, McGhee shot .706 from the free throw line. Over the last two contests, McGhee is shooting .850 from the line (17-for-20). He was 10-for-12 at the charity stripe tonight.

The Sooners, who entered the game with a Big 12-leading .733 free throw percentage, converted 25-of-33 free throw attempts tonight (.758).

Texas A&M's leading scorer entering the game, Bernard King did not make his first field goal until the 12:39 mark of the second half. In fact, King did not attempt a field goal until 10 seconds into the second stanza. The sophomore still finished the game with 17 points.

OU's 38-31 halftime advantage marked the 13th time in 14 games this year it has led at the break.

The Sooners host fifth-ranked Kansas Saturday at noon. The game will be televised by ABC.
