WACO, Texas (AP) - Kelley Newton scored 15 points on five 3-pointers Wednesday night as No. 24 Oklahoma never trailed and defeated Baylor 65-51.
Newton, who had not made a 3-pointer in his previous three games, made four of his treys in the second half for Oklahoma (16-4, 5-3 Big 12). Nolan Johnson scored 17 to lead the Sooners and reigning Big 12 Player of the Week J.R. Raymond added 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Raymond canned three 3-pointers to up his total over the past four games to 19.
Meanwhile, the Bears made just 1 of 16 3-point attempts, shooting 31 percent from the field. Their field goal percentage was the lowest posted by an OU opponent this year.
The Sooners, who outrebounded Baylor 34-32, improved 13-0 this year when outboarding their foes. OU committed 12 turnovers to Baylor's 11, just the third time this year the Sooners had more miscues than their opponent.
Greg Davis had 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots to lead Baylor (13-5, 2-5). Terry Black added 14 points.
Oklahoma has won four in a row in conference play and 13 straight against Baylor dating to 1978 when Bears coach Dave Bliss was head coach of the Sooners.
The Bears have lost four in a row.
