  • Ranked 24th in the ESPN/USA Today poll, Oklahoma improved to 14-4 overall and 3-3 in the Big 12 with its 75-68 win against Texas (ranked 20th in the AP poll and 23rd in the coaches poll). Texas fell to 15-4 and 4-2.

  • Oklahoma improved to 10-3 against Texas under Head Coach Kelvin Sampson, including 5-1 in Norman. OU has won 19 of its last 23 meetings with the Longhorns.

  • After making five treys and scoring a season-high 25 points Saturday at Kansas State, OU's J.R. Raymond sank five three-pointers and finished with 21 points tonight. Raymond had totaled seven points in five games prior to Saturday. Ten of his 29 three-pointers this year have come in the last two games (34 percent).

  • Oklahoma led 32-29 at halftime. The Sooners had trailed at the break in their previous three games.

  • The Sooners' .418 field goal percentage was their best over the last four games.

  • The Longhorns' .373 field goal performance tonight was the worst by an OU opponent in league play this year.

  • Texas was 8-for-19 from three-point range this evening (.421). In six league games, OU opponents are shooting .446 from long range (33-for-74).

  • Freshman Johnnie Gilbert made all three of his field goal attempts and finished with a career-high-tying six points.

  • Nolan Johnson, who grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, was 8-for-8 from the free throw line tonight to run his consecutive makes streak to 23. He is shooting a team-high .887 (63-for-71) from the charity stripe this year.

  • Both teams committed 16 turnovers tonight. OU has committed more turnovers than its opponent just twice this year. The Sooners entered the game averaging a league-low 12.8 miscues per game, but their 16 tonight tied a season high.

  • Senior Jameel Heywood's nine points marked a season high.

  • OU's last three games have been decided by an average of 3.0 points.

  • The Sooners play again Saturday when they host Nebraska at 12:45 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN Plus (KFOR Channel 4 in OKC and KJRH Channel 2 in Tulsa). At halftime, OU will retire the jersey of former Sooner great Mookie Blaylock. Blaylock will become the third former OU player to have his jersey retired (Wayman Tisdale and Alvan Adams are the others).
