Sooners To Compete Saturday In Lawrence
The University of Oklahoma cross country teams will travel to Lawrence, Kan., to compete in the Rim Rock Invitational on Saturday. Joining OU at the meet will be Truman State, Wichita State, Kansas.
Both squads are coming off strong showings in the Hurricane Invitational. The women came in with a second-place finish and the men were third.
The Sooner Lineup in Lawrence
Competing for the Sooner women in Lawrence will be Alaina Dearman, Sinead Holt, Corrie Hussar, Amanda Luksetich, Kelli ORourke, Aisha Stringer, Kim Thomas, Stephanie Webb, Abby Nutter, and Jenny Ledford. The men traveling to Lawrence include Jason Brown, Darren Hutchins, Jarod Kelly, Brandon Kissack, Jimmy Martinez, Joey McNair, Cecil Rose, Forest Walker, and Freddie Stephens.

The Sooner women, who finished second behind Southwest Missouri State, were led at the Hurricane Invitaitonal by Aisha Stringer. She finished second overall with a time of 11:32 in the two-mile race. OUs top five performers included seniors Corrie Hussar (11:59/10th) and Stephanie Webb (12:04/12th) and sophomores Kelli O'Rourke (12:09/13th) and Alaina Dearman (12:23/18th).
Junior Brandon Kissack fininshed third to lead the men to a third-place finish. Host Tulsa won the men's division. Kissack had a time of 20:29 in the four-mile race. Freshman Joey McNair made his collegiate debut with a ninth-place finish and a time of 20:55. The Sooners top five performers included freshman Darren Hutchins (21:23), junior Cecil Rose (22:01), and sophmore Jason Brown (22:09).

The Sooners will head to Dallas for the SMU Run-on on Sept. 15. OU will take the week of Sept. 23 off before traveling to Stillwater on Sept. 30 for the Cowboy Jamboree
