NORMAN, Okla. - On Friday afternoon, Oklahoma men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson will stop by ESPN.com to chat with fans.
One of the most respected men's basketball coaches in the country, Sampson is beginning his seventh year at Oklahoma and has guided the Sooners to six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. He also made a trip to the "Big Dance" in 1994 in his final season at Washington State. Sampson, who is 130-62 (.677) at OU, has directed the Sooners to 21.7 victories per season during his stint in Norman, including 23.7 wins over the last three years.
Last season, Oklahoma posted a 27-7 record and participated in the Big 12 Tournament championship game before earning a No. 12 final AP ranking. The Sooners earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament's west regional and the team's 27 wins were the fifth most in school history.
A board member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Sampson was named the 1995 national coach of the year by the Associated Press, United States Basketball Writers Association and Basketball Weekly after guiding the Sooners to a 23-9 record and a 15-0 home mark.
Sampson will stop in to chat on Friday at 2 p.m. CT. Feel free to drop him a question here and we'll save it for his arrival.
