HILO, Hawaii (AP) - Aaron McGhee scored 32 points and Hollis Price added 23, including three crucial jumpers over the final three minutes, as No. 19 Oklahoma hung on to turn back Montana State 84-76 Friday in an opening round game of the Big Island Invitational Tournament.

Although the Sooners (3-0) finished with an eight-point victory, the outcome wasn't settled until midway through the second half when a 13-5 rally enabled them to build a double-digit lead.

During the run, which made it 72-58, McGhee and Johnnie Gilbert each scored four points.

The Bobcats (1-2) could get no closer than eight thereafter.

Montana State stayed close in the first half, which ended with the Sooners ahead 50-45.

Neither team led by more than three points with Montana State shooting 63 percent of their shots, including 5-of-9 from behind the 3-point line.

John Lazosky had 18 points over the stretch with four 3-pointers.

But McGhee, a junior college transfer, was hot from the start, hitting 7-of-10 and converting 6-of-7 free throws for 20 points.

For the game, McGhee was 12-of-17, with all of his baskets coming in the paint. Lazosky was high for Montana State with 23 points and Justin Brown added 14.
