Oklahoma Head Coach Kelvin Sampson
"I think it was a good test for us to play a good team. Obviously we're not as good yet as we're going to be this season. We did make some improvements tonight. We took five or six charges tonight and I thought that was outstanding. Every team we play early in the season will be a challenge until we become a good basketball team. I think we will be, we're just not there yet.
"We've got another week to get ready for our season. This game can be a valuable lesson."
On Global Sports' shooting:
"They shot the ball very well. Jamal Faulkner kept making threes. (Michael) Nurse and (C.J.) Bruton are also good shooters. In a game like this, they can play relaxed and they played well."
On junior Aaron McGhee:
"Aaron McGhee did a good job tonight. He played good help-side defense. He's very good from the free throw line. I think all of our guys will eventually be good free throw shooters."
OU Senior Nolan Johnson
"For the first 10 to 12 minutes of the game, I thought our defense was great. However, as the game wore on, we couldn't get the stops like we had early on. I'm not glad we lost, but sometimes it takes a loss to see what your team is made of."
OU Junior Aaron McGhee
"Personally, I thought I played well, but we didn't win, so it really doesn't matter. Give them credit, they hit some key shots down the stretch."
Global Sports Head Coach Bryan Gates
"When you shoot 64 percent and half of your shots fall like that, it's a lucky day. They killed us on the boards, 36-26, and got 15 offensive rebounds."
On Oklahoma:
"They have a great young team, but tonight we just had some shots that fell for us. When you go 9-for-15 from three-point range and your center is 3-for-3 from behind the arc, it's probably just luck going your way. Coach Sampson is going to have them right back where they need to be. There is no question that out of the nine games we have played, Oklahoma is the hardest-playing team."
