DALLAS - Former Oklahoma standout Eduardo Najera will make his NBA debut tomorrow night as the Dallas Mavericks host Milwaukee. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Reunion Arena in Dallas.
Najera, a second round draft pick (38th selection overall) of the Mavericks last June, will not just be making his debut but will also be starting for the Mavericks at small forward.
"He has worked hard and done all the little things during the preseason," said Mavericks head coach/general manager Don Nelson. "He's earned his spot in the starting five."
Najera averaged 9.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in seven preseason contests. His top game came against Houston as he scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
"It's a big responsibility," said Najera. "I've got to play even harder. My role is defense and rebounding. I'm not worried about scoring, but I know I have to work hard."
Tickets for Najera's NBA debut and the rest of the 2000-2001 season are available by calling 214.747.MAVS or by logging on to dallasmavericks.com.
