Postgame Notes
Head Coach Terry McGuire:
"Tonight's game was a game that we thought we would be able to move the football. In the first series we did, but we can't turn over the ball like that. We had a couple of things going but their athletic talent prevented us from making big plays. The kids blocked when they were supposed to, but Oklahoma just had better athletes, like when (Rocky) Calmus jumped over our blocker and got to the quarterback. That was a great play."
"We have to get ready for our level of football next week. We had a lot of freshmen and sophomores playing and they made a lot of mistakes. It was a great win for Oklahoma and a good start for Bob Stoops."
On his team's performance: "We felt we created some excitement and that is something to build on this year. We couldn't get any pressure because they could man us up. We just tried to lay back and make some plays. We did, but they made more plays."
"This is a growing process at Oklahoma, but they have a great coaching staff and they have a tremendous work ethic."
