Norman, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma benefit football scrimmage that will be held at Memorial High School in Tulsa this Saturday afternoon is sold out. The scrimmage, which will begin at 3:30 p.m., is a special event with proceeds going to the American Red Cross to aid disaster victims. No tickets will be sold at the gates, which will open at 1:30 p.m.

"Our team is extremely excited about going to Tulsa on Saturday," said Sooner head coach Bob Stoops. "Playing before a sellout crowd of 10,000 or 60,000 is always exciting. I haven't seen the stadium, but everyone tells me that the crowd will look larger than 10,000 people. We're thankful that the NCAA has allowed us to hold this benefit event, but more than that, we thank the city of Tulsa and our fans for helping make this a major success."

Because of the large crowd, the Tulsa Police Department has created a parking and traffic flow plan for those planning to attend. Limited parking will be available next to the stadium at Memorial High School and Key Elementary School located on Hudson Avenue. Hudson Avenue will be closed between 58th and 54th Streets from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the ticket-taking and pedestrian overflow area. This does not block the entrances to the parking areas at the two schools.

When the parking lots are full at the two schools, Hudson Avenue will be closed between 51st and 61st Streets until the scrimmage is completed. Parking throughout the neighborhood east of Memorial High School is discouraged, especially where traffic cones and "No Parking during Special Events" signs are present. Police will be enforcing parking regulations.

Free shuttle bus service and parking will be provided at 6500 South Yale Avenue. This is the major parking area and will provide easiest access to the event.
