LUBBOCK, Tex. - For the third time in as many outings the University of Oklahoma volleyball team was swept as the Sooners were defeated by Texas Tech today, 6-15, 7-15, 7-15. The loss moves OU to 8-20 on the season and 3-15 in Big 12 action, while Texas Tech improves to 17-14 overall and 6-12 in league play.
Juniors Cathy Cook (Irvine, Calif.) and Carolyn Kittell (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and sophomore Danielle Bookout (Hereford, Texas) paced the Sooners. Cook was in on two of the team's three blocks, to lead the team in the category for the ninth time on the year. Bookout also led the team for the ninth time, as she collected 13 kills. Kittell registered 11 digs, the most of anyone on the Sooner squad for the second-straight contest, and 35 assists. She now has 1,165 assists on the year, which moves her to eighth on the school's all-time single season list.
The Sooners return to action this Wednesday, Nov. 24, as they travel to Manhattan, Kan. to take on Kansas State. In their first match of the season OU lost to Kansas State, 3-1.
