NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (6-14, 1-9) hosts Iowa State (2-15, 0-10) Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. inside the OU Field House in Norman, Okla. in a Big 12 Conference match up. The Sooners look to pick up their second conference win and snap an eight match losing streak, while the Cyclones will attempt to win its first Big 12 match and put an end to a 14-match losing skid.
Oklahoma enters the contest ranked fifth in the league in hitting percentage with a .242 and sixth in services aces, landing 1.49 aces per game. ISU ranks last in all team statistics, except for blocking where the Cyclones are eighth (2.38 bpg) in the league. The last OU win was when the Sooners swept ISU on Sept. 25 in Ames, Iowa.
Leading the Sooners this season is junior Cathy Cook who averages team highs in kills (2.90) and blocks ( 0.74) per game. She also has a team and Big 12 best .389 hitting percentage. In addition, OU's Melissa Christman and Carolyn Kittell ranks second and ninth in the conference in service aces (0.43 sapg) and assists (10.96 apg) per game, respectively.
