Jared Boyd was named the first general manager in Oklahoma women’s basketball history on May 13, 2026 by head coach Jennie Baranczyk. He enters his first season with the program in 2026-27.
Boyd arrived in Norman after spending the 2025-26 season as the women’s basketball general manager at Texas Tech, following five years as the program’s chief of staff. He brings more than a decade of experience in basketball operations, administration and personnel strategy.
As Oklahoma’s general manager, Boyd oversees roster management, player acquisition, analytics, NIL and revenue-sharing strategy, recruiting operations, player retention and professional development, while working closely with head coach Jennie Baranczyk to align the program’s long-term vision and personnel strategy.
During his lone season as general manager at Texas Tech, Boyd played a key role in building the Lady Raiders’ 2025-26 roster through the transfer portal, helping guide the program to a 25-7 record, a program-best 19-0 start and an NCAA Tournament second-round appearance. He also directed the program’s NIL allocation strategy and developed an innovative, centralized player personnel system dubbed “Command Center” to streamline recruiting and evaluation processes.
Prior to his promotion to general manager, Boyd served five seasons as Texas Tech’s chief of staff, overseeing basketball operations, travel logistics, fundraising, NIL strategy and recruiting operations. During his six total seasons in Lubbock, the Lady Raiders posted 109 wins and made three postseason appearances. In 2025-26, Texas Tech earned its first NCAA Tournament victory since 2005 and tied for its best Big 12 finish since 2013.
Before joining Texas Tech, Boyd spent three seasons at UT Arlington as the women’s basketball director of operations from 2017-20. During his tenure, the Lady Mavs won a conference championship and recorded 63 victories.
Boyd earned his bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise science from West Texas A&M in 2012 before completing his master’s degree in sport management at Texas Tech in 2015.
Boyd and his fiancée, Abby, live in Norman.
