Lindsey Magness returned to Oklahoma Athletics in August 2023 and serves as the Associate Director of Athletics Communications.

In this role, she primarily oversees the seven-time national champion womenās gymnastics team and volleyball team, coordinating social media efforts, media requests, and all content for womenās gymnastics and volleyball on SoonerSports.com. She is a two-timeĀ College Gym News SID of the Year (2024, 2025).

Before returning to OU, she left the athletics industry and served as the Assistant Communications Director for Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City from May 2022-August 2023.

During her first stint at Oklahoma, she oversaw communications efforts for womenās soccer and womenās gymnastics from 2017-2022. During her five-year tenure, the womenās gymnastics team won two national championships and three Big 12 titles. She served as the media contact for three national athletes of the year in Maggie Nichols, who won both the Honda Award for Gymnastics and the AAI Award, often considered the Heisman Trophy of gymnastics; and Anastasia Webb, who was the first Honda Award Top Three Finalist in gymnastics program history. Under the helm of Magness, the womenās gymnastics Instagram account reached 100,000 followers, becoming the second womenās gymnastics account to reach that mark.

Prior to her time with Oklahoma, she spent three years at the University of South Florida where she oversaw communications efforts for womenās soccer, softball, baseball, menās soccer and menās and womenās tennis.

Magness earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a specialization in public relations and a minor in American history from the University of Oklahoma in 2013. She began in college athletics as a student intern in the athletics communications office, serving as the primary contact for womenās tennis for the 2013-2014 season.

A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Magness lives with her husband, Shane, and dogs, Brooks & Rumble, in Oklahoma City.
