DJ Gasso enters his second season as a graduate assistant for Oklahoma in 2020.Ā
A Norman native, Gasso finished his collegiate career at the University of Central Oklahoma in 2018, hitting .303 as a senior with a .395 on-base percentage and a .364 slugging average.Ā
Prior to his time at UCO, Gasso spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at Bradley University. He registered a .255 batting average, a .311 slugging percentage and a .363 on-base percentage over his two seasons.Ā The infielder also excelled in the classroom, named a 2016 MVC Honorable Mention Scholar Athlete, a two-time MVC Honor Roll selection and a four-time Athletics Directorās Honor Roll honoree.Ā
Gassoās collegiate career began with one season at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kan., where he split time between second base, third base and shortshop.Ā
Gasso graduated from Bradley in 2017 with a bachelorās degree in communication before beginning postgraduate work at UCO. He is currently pursuing a masterās degree in intercollegiate athletics administration at OU. He is the son of head coach Patty Gasso and the brother of assistant coach JT Gasso.Ā
