  • Title:
    Assistant Coach

Bill Allcorn is set to enter his sixth year at Oklahoma in 2022-23. The first five years of his tenure with the Sooners were as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach in 2022.

The 2021 Jan Strickland National Assistant Coach of the Year, Allcorn has helped oversee Oklahoma cement itself atop collegiate golf.

In his first year with the Sooners, Allcorn helped OU reach the match-play quarterfinals at the 2018 NCAA Championships. The team also claimed the 2018 Big 12 Championship and won four regular-season team titles, the program's most in one year since 1989.

Following a solid first season, the Sooners built off the momentum from the 2018 team by winning three team titles and advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2019. In addition, OU landed three players on the All-America teams in Quade Cummins, GarettReband and Patrick Welch.

In his third season, Oklahoma was the No. 1 team in the nation during the shortened 2019-20 campaign. Cummins and Reband reprised their role as All-Americans, and the Sooners finished inside the top two at four of their six tournaments.

The 2021 season was one of the best in program history as the Sooners tied the program record with five team wins en route to a runner-up finish at the national championship. The Sooners were the nation's consensus No. 1 team entering the postseason and rode the momentum into the national championship match, where they fell to Pepperdine 3-2. The entire Oklahoma lineup was named to the All-America team for the first time in program history.

With Allcorn assisting, the Sooners produced one of the most historic seasons in program history in 2022. Oklahoma won a school-record tying seven tournaments, including the program's 18th conference championship. Ranked outside the top 10 to open the season, OU quickly ascended into the nation's No. 1 spot, a position they would maintain for nearly the entire season. Oklahoma earned the overall No. 1 seed for the second consecutive season and advanced to NCAA match play for an NCAA-record sixth successive season. Three Sooners earned All-America honors in Chris Gotterup, Logan McAllister and Patrick Welch. Gotterup became OU's first Haskins Award winner, earning the title national player of the year and Big 12 Golfer of the Year.

Allcorn came to OU after spending two seasons as a volunteer assistant men's golf coach with Baylor University. He also worked with Baylor's women's program in the spring of 2017. Allcorn has also developed Explosive Golf Training, a program designed to help golfers maintain posture and balance while improving accelerating and decelerating abilities in their golf swing. He has consulted with multiple college golf programs and trained both professionals and high-level amateurs on his program.

As a golfer, Allcorn played professionally for eight years. He was the 2011 winner of the Adams Pro Tour Money List and earned several victories on the Adams Pro Tour, state opens and pro-am events.

Allcorn was a four-year letter winner at Baylor. He competed in 38 tournaments during his career, claiming a title at the Bill Hill Invitational and finishing as runner-up in the 2009 Big 12 Championship. He graduated cum laude in 2009 with a degree in economics. A two-time All-American Scholar, Allcorn was also a four-time Academic All-Big 12 team member and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll 10 times. A native of Abilene, Texas, Allcorn lettered in both golf and basketball at Abilene High School.

He and his wife, Mallory, have two children.
