PALO ALTO, Calif. - Former Sooner Alesha Peel ran a 13.78 in the semifinals of the 100-meter hurdles Sunday afternoon and did not advance to the final of the event at the U.S. Senior National Track and Field Championships.
Junior-to-be Leslie Dunlap did not clear the opening height in the women's pole vault on Sunday. The opening height, 13-5.25, was 3.25 inches higher than her season best (13-1.75) and better than her career best by nearly two inches. It also marked only the second time this season, going back to the indoor opener in December 1, for Dunlap to fail to clear a height in competition.
Olympian Stacy Dragilla won the women's pole vault title, clearing 15-3 to win by nearly six inches.
Peel, competing for the PTC Elite TC, ran a 13.44 in the first round on Saturday but that time wouldn't have advanced her to the final either.
