Barber Named to All-SEC Women's Golf Team

May 01, 2026 | Women's Golf

NORMAN – Oklahoma senior Savannah Barber earned Second Team All-SEC honors on Friday, as voted on by the league's 16 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Barber, a four-year Sooner, becomes Oklahoma's first all-conference selection since Hannah Screen earned All-Big 12 honors in 2022. She ranks among OU's all-time top 10 in career wins, scoring average, par-or-better rounds, birdies and rounds played.

Under head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell, Oklahoma has now produced 18 all-conference selections.

"Savannah has been one of the pillars of our program over the last four years, and to see her recognized as an All-SEC selection is incredibly exciting for her and our program," Drouin-Luttrell said. "The work she has put in has paid off in a big way, and she has proven she's one of the best golfers in the country. We're so proud of her and know she'll continue to play at a high level as we head into postseason."

In 2025-26, Barber has played in 11 events and owns a scoring average of 71.75 (0.53). She owns a win and five top-10 finishes along with seven top 20s. Her 18 par-or-better rounds this season are a career best as the senior enters NCAAs ranked No. 44 in the country.

For her career, Barber has competed in 128 rounds and owns a scoring average of 72.59 (1.12), the second-lowest in program history. Her 379 birdies rank among OU's top five all-time, and she is one of five Sooners with 50 or more par-or-better rounds.

Barber has helped lead the No. 23 Sooners to their best season in over a decade, including a third consecutive NCAA Regional appearance and the program's highest postseason seed (No. 4) since 2014. The Fort Worth, Texas, native tied for eighth at the SEC Championship, helping Oklahoma to a runner-up finish in stroke play, its best conference showing in more than 10 years.

The Sooners will tee off at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional on May 11, looking to advance to their second straight NCAA Championships.
