FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team finished SEC competition with a perfect 8-0 record after a 197.925-197.500 victory over No. 8 Arkansas Friday night inside Bud Walton Arena.
OU is the first SEC team since Florida in 2022 to finish with an undefeated conference record. The Sooners are now 13-0-1 on the year with 10 victories over top 10 teams.
Addison Fatta secured her seventh all-around title of the season with a 39.625, her fifth score of 39.600 or better. Mackenzie Estep placed second, just .025 behind Fatta, with a career-high 39.600 in her third all-around appearance.
Hannah Scheible won her third vault title with a 9.95, while Ella Murphy claimed her second beam title with a near-perfect 9.975.
A trio of 9.90-plus scores on the bars paced the Sooners to a 49.475-49.275 lead after the first rotation. Estep was the high score of the event for OU with a career-high 9.95. The freshman now has a career best of 9.95 or higher on vault, bars and floor.
Scheible and Fatta recorded back-to-back 9.90s in the front half of the lineup, delivering steady routines to help OU build an early lead. Faith Torrez notched a 9.875 in the anchor spot, while Ella Murphy led off the rotation with a 9.850. Making her collegiate debut on the bars, Caitlin Smith added a 9.825.
A 49.575 on vault had OU in front 99.050-98.625 at the halfway point. All six vaulters went 9.850 or higher as the Sooners recorded their seventh team score of 49.500 or better on the apparatus. Scheible had the top score for the second week in a row, matching her season high with a 9.95 on her handspring pike half.
Fatta and Keira Wells notched matching 9.925s, while Estep added a 9.90. Elle Mueller recorded a 9.875 and Elizabeth Blessey tallied a 9.850.
The Sooners used a 49.375 on floor to lead 148.425-147.850 after the third rotation. Estep and Mueller led the way with 9.90s in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively. Leading off her second event of the night, Murphy recorded a 9.875, followed by a 9.850 from Fatta. In her floor debut, Wells earned a 9.850 in the No. 3 spot. Kamila Pawlak anchored with a 9.80.
The final rotation saw OU put up a 49.500 on beam to secure the win. For the second time this season, Murphy was nearly perfect with a 9.975 in the No. 3 spot. Fatta extended her streak to six meets with a 9.90-plus score with a 9.95 in the leadoff position. Mueller earned a 9.90 in the No. 5 spot, her fourth straight score of 9.90 or better. Estep tallied a career-high 9.85, while Wells added a 9.825.
The final home meet of the season is Sunday afternoon when the Sooners host TWU for Senior Day at 1:45 p.m. Torrez and fellow senior Ava Siegfeldt will be honored immediately following the meet.
